Now That's What I Call A DJ!

Why Book Me?

Professional

Professionalism comes with experience, and I have that in spades. When you hire a Mobile DJ you expect nothing less than first class service. The consultation and booking process should be slick and stress free. You need confidence that I will be on time and well presented. Health and safety should be a priority and most of all, guests should leave having had a great time. Being a Pro member of the National Association of DJs you can expect all this and more. Read more about why this is important below.

Experienced

A lifetime of exposure to music means that I can confidently create the ultimate party atmosphere for you. I know what good music is and how to put on a show. Over the years I have studied it, written it, recorded it, taught it, played it live or promoted it. I am the founder of Atlantic Surf Radio, a presenter on the station and also the station's Programme Director having created literally hundreds of radio shows. I am also an established voice-over artist.

Affordable

Hiring me isn't expensive and there is no need to worry about the price. I charge industry standard rates for an event and am considerably cheaper than a live band. Getting a mate to DJ at your special occasion for £50 is a false economy. A lack of experience, professionalism and unsuitable equipment can lead to disappointment. Don't take that risk. Let me take the stress out of your event. I'll keep everything flowing smoothly and you can be confident I get your music style right.

20th Century Solid Gold

Looking for the best music mix from the 20th Century? If you want Elvis to Oasis, then please read on to find out how your celebration can be the envy of all your family and friends.

The Decades Mix

Everyone has their own favourite decade of music. The fact that we all have different tastes, means that for most events you need an eclectic mix of music for everyone to enjoy. Luckily for you, eclectic is my middle name. I have a mountain of music to choose from and every track is a classic begging to be played to entertain your guests whatever the occasion. If there is something you particularly want to hear, great I can do that. I’m happy to customise your music to suit.

I will take you on a journey from the mid 50s, right through to the year 2000 and everything in between. These five decades of music are without doubt the absolute best. And on that journey you will hear Disco, Rock & Roll, Soul, Motown, Ska & Two Tone, Synth Pop, New Wave, Reggae, Country and just about everything else in between. All your favourite bands will get played and maybe some you had forgotten about.

If you are thinking about a themed event, then please read below to find out how I can help.

RETRO Themed Events

Are you planning a themed event? Maybe an 80s School Reunion or a 90s Brit Pop evening? How about a 70s Glam Rock night, a 60s Mods & Rockers event or a 50s Rock ‘n’ Roll party? Whatever the occasion, I can help.

The Electric 80s

Ah the 80s. I can see you now, too much makeup, dancing around your handbag with your big shoulder pads and even bigger hair, and that was just the men! One of my favourite decades for music. A decade that gave us New Wave, Synth Pop and a lot of Electronic Dance Music perfect for a great night out.

Remember Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, The Human League, Depeche Mode and Wham! What about Bowie’s Let’s Dance where he told us to put on our red shoes and dance the blues. The list of great 80’s music to play at your event is longer than my blue skinny leather tie I used to wear when out dancing. And what about 80’s fashion and outfits you used to wear, neontastic I reckon. I bet that was great fun. Having an 80’s themed event is a great excuse to revisit your youth, get dressed up in your colourful clothes and dance the night away to some of the best music ever made.

I lived it, so I know exactly what to play to recreate those exciting times. Contact me now to discuss your requirements.

The Swinging 60s

Everyone loves The Beatles and the Rolling Stones, but there’s more to this decade of music than just those two legends. Some of the biggest bands in history came of age in the 60s. What about The Kinks, The Who, The Animals, Herman’s Hermits, Dave Clarke Five, The Hollies, The Small Faces, and that’s just for starters. Mary Quant led the way in fashion with her shocking mini skirt, Elvis came out of the Army and went into the movies, Cliff was on his Summer Holiday riding around in a red London bus and Beatlemania was everywhere. What a time to be alive eh? The Prime Minister even said that ‘most of our people have never had it so good’.

Maybe you were a Mod or a Rocker? Pirate radio was all the rage, did you listen to Radio Caroline or Radio London? Some fab memories there, and I can recreate all that with a 60s music themed event.

Please make contact to find out more.

The Sensational 70s

The 70s had a bit of everything, remember Glam Rock and Slade, T.Rex, Sweet, Bowie, Roxy Music, Mud and Wizard. And what girl didn’t fall in love with David Essex? Did you have a poster on your bedroom wall or was it The Bay City Rollers? Punk followed Glam and New Wave quickly followed Punk. Add a healthy dose of Disco and Two-Tone and Ska in the mix and you have all the ingredients for an amazing party. And let’s not forget ABBA, Dancing Queen is a must play at every 70s event. They had some great outfits didn’t they? What did you wear when you went out? Remember big shirt collars and Oxford Bags, we thought we looked so cool. Well we did look cool and we had a great time.

Why not have a 1970’s themed party, it would be a blast. You bring your dancing shoes and I’ll bring the music and vibe. Please get in touch to discuss how I can help.

Rock 'n' Roll Party

I love the 50s, probably the best decade for fashion in my opinion. And the music, well where do I start. Let’s start with Elvis because that fella has got a lot to answer for. John Lennon said that ‘before Elvis there was nothing’, and probably true where popular music is concerned. The 50s (and early 60s) are all about rock and roll, rockabilly, Doo-wop and dreamy ballads. Picture this, an American Diner and the jukebox is jumping with hits from Elvis, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bill Haley, Little Richard, Roy Orbison, Dion and Gene Vincent. But the Americans didn’t have all the fun. We jived to Cliff and The Shadows, Tommy Steele, Billy Fury, Johnny Kidd and Marty Wilde. Lonnie Donegan’s Skiffle was infectious good fun too. What better way to celebrate than a Rock ‘n’ Roll themed event. Maybe it’s a big birthday or a Grease T-Birds and Pink Ladies night. They are an absolute blast, there’s black leather jackets and poodle skirts everywhere and it looks amazing.

Please give me a call to chat and find out how I can help you bop, jive and stroll the night away, and give you a fantastic night to remember.

The Brit Pop 90s

When you think of 90’s music, Oasis, Blur and Brit Pop probably come to mind. But what about Suede, Pulp and The Spice Girls. Or The Happy Mondays, Inspiral Carpets, The Prodigy etc. Whitney said that she would always love us and Titanic was at the movies. I still think that both of them could have gotten on that piece of wood at the end. Never let go Jack! And we couldn’t get enough of Friends, Hey how you doin’? There’s so much great music from this time. Did you ever go to a rave? Did you do the Big Fish Little Fish Cardboard Box dance to trance music? And what about festivals, up to your neck in mud, what better place to hear your favourite band. Maybe you missed out on Oasis tickets for the summer of 2025. Not to worry, why not have your own Oasis night, we can do that, anything is possible.

I’ll tell you what you want, what you really, really want, is for me to recreate all this and more at your 90’s event. Give me a call to find out more.

My record selection guarantees an unforgettable lively atmosphere, playing awesome feel good party ‘bangers’ from the 50s to 2000. Book me and your New Year’s Eve function could well go down in history as a classic. Even become the stuff of myths and legends and talked about for years. It’s even rumoured that time travellers from the future may well be there. If you are thinking about a themed event even better. What’s better than an 80’s Fancy Dress party for example?

Whatever your plans, please make contact but remember, I can only do one New Year’s Eve party a year so don’t miss out and book early.
